Yes or no?Black or white?Neither; It is all greyDisappointment and sadness:By-products of the over-active mindTry to turnBut it turns as wellBaseless it may yet beBut that we will have to wait and seeHoping for a mistake, hoping for a flawSomething which is very much against my usual lawNevertheless, bow down I shall notI can't, I shan't, I will notI have to, I must and I will fightIt is beyond me to say 'nein, nein'Out into the unknownWhere countless dangers lurkYet it will be only the treasuresThat occupy my mind's eyeMine not to make replyMine not to reason whyMine but to do or dieInto this valley of uncertaintyRides this sole horsemanHis fate unknown to allBut he must answer destiny's call---------------------------------------------------I just... came up with this within 15 minutes. It's probably rubbish to the more discerning poem fans out there, I don't know. I just felt the need to put this down.In case you were wondering, yes, that last part is helped along by Alfred, Lord Tennyson's 'The Charge Of The Light Brigade'. I thereby give credit where credit is due, heh. It's the first poem I've ever written, and I reiterate that I'm well aware that it's probably rubbish. I don't know how to really 'judge' a poem though, so I'm really just stumbling around in the dark. Any constructive criticism would be well appreciated. Not that I'm actually all that interested in poetry, but it would be another interesting thing to learn after all.A-M, O.
