well. Common Tests are almost over. we're just left with A Maths, which I'll fail, without doubt.
Let's review the Common Tests, eh? We'll go sequentially.
1) English. Hm, nothing particularly difficult, felt it was alright. of course, i'll just have to wait to see my marks to see how i did. the paper just felt like nothing out of the ordinary, not particularly easy neither was it too difficult.
2) Physics. I studied, i really did. Did better than i would've if i didn't study (which i usually don't), but still, the paper was quite tough. Kinda pissed that there were so few Heat questions, i studied hard on that just the previous night. in the end, Forces was the topic of the day. fucked up a few parts, but... well, i guess i can pass. hopefully, really hopefully, i can get a B4. Not realistically aiming for any higher than that, although that would be welcome. So, hoping for a B4 or B3.
3) E Maths. haha, i never thought it would happen, but E Maths owned my ass, upside down inside out. I've already failed it, 100% sure about that. the number of blanks i left meant that, having counted the marks already confirmed dropped, the most i can get is around 20-something, out of a total mark of 60. a confirmed KIA for me, this paper.
4) Biology. another subject that i studied. put in 5 hours straight of studying into it the previous day. kinda paid off i guess. some questions i wasn't sure, and one of them i didn't know cos i gave the topic a miss (stupid! it was a giveaway question at that too! fuck!). i did all the questions i knew and bullshitted the ones i didn't. hopefully i can pick up a few marks from those that i bullshitted, maybe, for example, getting 1 mark from a 4 mark question, something like that. overall though, not too bad, hoping for an A, but realistically looking at upwards of a high B4. i wouldn't settle for anything less, but Bio has been known to shock me, results-wise (eg. i thought i would get an A2, in the end get C5, something like that), so i'm just crossing my fingers for now. that said, i'm quite happy with my Bio progress.
5) History. BWAHAHA, this paper, i totally owned it. the SBQ was alright, the SEQ is where all the owning started. the 3 topics i studied ALL CAME OUT. i had the freakin' luxury of choice man! better still, i had just revised (again) one of the topics JUST BEFORE the paper. needless to say, i chose that question, with all the facts still fresh in my head. i think, so long as i didn't screw up somewhere, there's every possibility that i can get full marks for the SEQ section of the paper, haha. Felt REAL good after that paper. Final Verdict: PWNED
6) Chemistry. Today's paper. Hm... well, not TOO difficult. another topic i studied. put in 5 hours again the previous day studying for this. paid off, i think. some questions here and there i think i screwed or didn't know, but i think... a safe guess would be somewhere in the B4 range. of course, i'm really hoping for a result upwards of B3. crossing my fingers.
The last paper is A Maths, of course. pretty much a foregone conclusion that i'll fail. just gonna do some studying, just try not too die too bad, haha. Matrices, Binomial Theorem, Permutation & Combination and Integration should be alright. Kinematics too, i suppose. Gotta go brush up on Differentiation. Logarithms is fucked, has always been and will always be. as i said, this paper, i'm 99% sure i'll fail. i'm just gonna try not to fail too badly, that's all i'm aiming at.
generally my studying in the holidays was pretty much all on Sciences, and i think it shows. sure, i got a lucky-as-hell break in History, but it's pretty evident where all my study time went, with the only improvements to hope for coming in the Science subjects. E Maths is already a confirmed kill, and A Maths is shaping up to claim my scalp. i'll just see if i can limit its spoils to my hair, haha.
i'll be taking a short break after the end of the Common Tests, before diving headfirst into the world of studying, one i won't get out of until after the O Levels. i've just experienced first hand what just 5 hours of studying can do for me (my Sciences especially). imagine if i had done this sort of studying from the start. i'd be owning every subject. as it is, i've started late, but i'll be continuing this trend until it's all over.
