here's another Guns N' Roses video, Out Ta Get Me. truly Guns N' Roses at their most 'hard rock'. a few swears here and there, but they've been bleeped out, lol. i prefer without bleeps, but heck, the song itself sounds damn good already, so, what the hey, eh? haha.
today... nothing much, i really don't have much to speak about. this should be a real short post.
only thing i did that was vaguely interesting was me and Ben working together to figure out the notes of the Godfather Theme, Speak Softly Love. once i transpose to my instrument's key, i'll find the time to write it down on manuscript paper, then i'll just have some fun with the song. truly classic piece of music, and i can play it too (meaning the notes are all in my range).
well, that'll keep me occupied, besides my school and band commitments. until next time, do enjoy Out Ta Get Me, ROCK ON!

that there up there is the trailer for The Godfather: The Game. i've been playing it recently, and yes, i know it is a year old, but i only just started on it, so give me a break, eh? lol.
it's a really good game, and the whole feel of the story is just amazing. the way Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola depicted the story in book form and film form respectively is just... i don't know how else to describe it, but for lack of a better word, the story is just plain, fantastically cool.
i intend to use the money i got during CNY (not alot) to go and get the DVD boxset of the Godfather trilogy. will have to find time for that though =/. in the meantime, if anyone has the song that is played in the video above, which is called Speak Softly Love, do send it to me, thanks. heh.
well, it's been a good few days of resting for me. tomorrow's back to the daily grind, and i have a physics test at that too. pressure ain't too bad, but heat capacity is going to hand me my ass on a platter unless i do something about it, which i will, right after this post, heh. overall, a pretty ok return to regular life for me, no tremendous hurdles to get over or whatever.
just to end off, another music video. this time i'm returning to Guns N' Roses, with a lesser known song of theirs, Garden Of Eden. the song's fast right from the start and just goes on at a frenetic pace the whole way through, really crazy stuff. if you realize, it actually is a really low budget video, almost nothing is needed besides the band members and their instruments. look out for the crazy dancers in the background! lol.

another cheesy 80's music video here, lol. this song might be familiar for you guys out there who have played GTA: Vice City. it was in the soundtrack, and it's called Dance Hall Days, by Wang Chung. actually, personally that was the first place that i heard this song, and it's just nice, in it's own laid-back manner. still, the video IS cheesy. lol.
well, today was just a chilling day. finally got started on The Godfather, on PS2. awesome game, pretty kickass. still early in the game, so i'll have alot left to play, lol. rest of the day i just slept. it feels great to be able to sleep so much, after all the obligations one has had this past year so far. there's still a few days to go at that too, so i'll enjoy whatever i can of the holidays.
i've come to realise that electronic drumsets were all the rage back in the 80's. seen several vids and ALL which feature the whole band playing show electronic drumsets, like the one in the video above.
well, another 80's video before i sign off for the night. this one's called Physical, by Olivia Newton-John. by all means a good song, the video is an intentionally jokey one, heh. enjoy!
i think she is, i don't know. but it's not gonna affect me much, though it is a pity.

right then, i'm back. i'm putting up another 2 videos today, and though most of you would expect another rock or guitar video of sorts, i (for some reason) decided to put up 2 songs from the 80's, one a love song (the one above), which is Missing You, by John Waite, and the other a pop song, something with a catchy tune, and it's Gold, by Spandau Ballet. that'll be at the bottom of this post.
the 80's was full of great-sounding songs, and these are 2 of them. i might post more from the era, depending on my mood. to be honest, i wasn't even planning to put these vids up but just got that unpredictable inspiration of mine again, so i just did it, heh.
also, while the music is great, music videos were a pretty novel concept back then, so most of them are quite cheesy, really. lol. do enjoy the music though.
ok, today was abit of a letdown. was going to meet my primary school friends at first but the whole thing was cancelled at the last minute. in any case, i managed to get my best friend, Boon Wei, over to my house just to play games and catch up on old times. pretty nice, although the cancellation of the meeting was quite disappointing. oh well, we'll find other days.
that's basically my whole day. put into a blog post, it sounds boring, but time spent with Boon ain't ever boring man, lol. there is a reason we're best friends, you know. lol.
well, i guess til next time then! here's Gold, by Spandau Ballet.

think i'll get into the habit of posting videos of my favourite songs every post, for the heck of it. you'll find that my tastes are actually pretty diverse. you could take the last video, Queen's Innuendo, as the unofficial first video of this 'series' i guess. in any case, the one i've posted here is The Eagles' Hotel California. i like the opening sequence of this version, but for pure guitar greatness you really should check out the recorded version (this one is acoustic).
well, the past two days have been good to me. Monday, the high point of the day was the band practice. one of the best we've had in ages; everything just seemed to fall in place. furthermore, after the debacle that was the last practice, this was sweet, sweet vindication for me, as an SL. as for today, haha, awesome-ness. already scheduled for early dismissal due to the band's practice at the Singapore Conference Hall, i got a bonus in the form of a free period just before recess. pure awesome-ness, lol. the practice itself was alright, but we didn't hit that magic level.
well, tomorrow's a full day. not that bad a day, definitely, but 2 periods of Biology followed by 2 of Chemistry? that's a recipe for ultimate boredom and stoning. will do my best to hold off my fatigue, lol. there's also a math test on Permutation and Combination, but i'm pretty ok in that, did some intensive work on Sunday, so i'll look through later and tomorrow morning; should be fine.
well, life's stabilized abit after the recent wobbles. feels good, you know. while life is only exciting as it should be if there are ups and downs, i could do with a little rest stop now, heh. stabilize things, just keep working at my objectives, and we'll talk about excitement after my O levels. that's the way to go. lol.
i think i'll end of with another vid. a double whammy on the opening of this video thing! you lucky readers, you. lololol. this one would be in extreme contrast to the Eagles' one up there, just to show the extreme diversity of my tastes. will add on with further examples of my musical tastes in future posts, but till then, do enjoy these!

really abstract video up there. but the song speaks to me, in a way. in it's own weird, out-of-this-world way.
in any case, i'm feeling better, but definitely feel i have something to prove.
besides that (no one knows it but me), i'm looking forward to this short week. friday's the chinese new year celebrations, so yeah, my torturous longer day is gone, haha. got a few tests coming up, hope i do okay. i should, for maths and history. done my practicing. feels good to be prepared, you know. lol.
well, not much to say. Week 7, here i come.

p.s. that song up there is by Queen, in case it's not that easily recognisable for you guys (it's pretty vague, the video.) cheers.
